Monkey Forest

Just one hours drive from the city of Senggigi, the Monkey Forest is home to troupes of native monkeys which can be hand fed. These curious and inquisitive creatures are quite accustomed to human contact, and so do not exhibit any aggression unless threatened.  Keep your valuables well secured though as they are prolific thieves!

Mount Rinjani

National Park

The National Park surrounding Mount Rinjani is a haven of wildlife, including Rusa Deer, Long Tailed Grey Macaque, the Black Ebony Leaf Monkey and Leopard Cats to mention a few. This park is well worth a visit!

Coastal Bird Life

The bird life of Lombok is as varied as its terrain.  Species such as the Wandering Whistling Duck, Osprey, Flores Hawk Eagle and Himalayan Cuckoo can be found in the heavily wooded slopes of Mount Rinjani... a true haven for bird-life. Bring your binoculars and camera!
A visit to the Monkey Forest is essential! Very colourful characters! Barking Deer - inhabitants of forests surrounding Mount Rinjani volcano The Woolly Necked Stork - found at numerous locations on Lombok

A true paradise for the

lovers of flowers

The tropical nature of Lombok means there are an abundance of bright flowers all year round.  From the better know Frangipanni (of which there are numerous species on Lombok) to minuscule orchids, barely visible to the eye. Lombok is heaven to those who love flowers.

Marine Life abounds

The rich oceans surrounding Lombok are a haven for an incredible array of marine species, from Turtles to large rays, sharks, tuna, and everything in between. To fully appreciate the variety, visit the Gili Islands for a day of snorkelling or scuba diving, or ask our guides to recommend a location closer to Lombok. Many can be reached on foot!

Cliff dwelling bird-life

Known for its aerial agility and cunning, the Peregrine Falcon lives on sheer cliff faces, inaccessible by most other animals. The sheer speed of this falcon is astounding, having been timed at 389 km/h (that’s 242 miles per hour!) make it one of the most feared predators.
The Peregrine Falcon... the world's fastest bird!

Wildlife & Flora Tours

From the tropical jungle volcanic regions to the tranquil waters of the Bali Sea, the variety of life on Lombok is second to none.  Large tracts of the island have been designated as National Parks, much to the credit of the Indonesian Government, which had the foresight to preserve critical areas for future generations.  These extensive parks offer pristine trekking opportunities for those strong at heart and willing to make the often strenuous effort to appreciate the more remote areas such as Mount Rinajni, where you can trek right into the heart of the volcano to appreciate its fresh water lake. No visit to Lombok is complete without a visit to the Monkey Forest north of Senggigi!  For those who appreciate the beauty of flowers, Lombok is a true paradise, with species of flowers seen only here.
